You. Only better.

We all want to be the best versions of ourselves.

Sometimes we need just a little help.

About…

“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”

—Maya Angelou

Sometimes we find ourselves in a place where we feel stuck. Maybe we can see where we want to go but we can’t seem to navigate our way there. Or maybe we can no longer figure out which way it is we want to go. My aim is to help you to get reacquainted with you, and to reconnect you with those things that bring meaning into your life, provide a centred foundation, and allow you to move with confidence.  With a practice informed by a variety of therapeutic modalities (listed aside), I will strive to provide you with the skills needed to build momentum and move in your preferred direction.  My work has primarily centred on helping others to manage depression, anxiety, interpersonal/relationship conflict, addictions, trauma, anger management, life transitions, grief & loss, emotion regulation, and communication skills.  My experience also includes helping family members/partners to more effectively support their loved ones who are profoundly affected by a mental health issue. Whatever it is that has elicited your interest in counselling, know that you will be greeted with a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment. And one that includes the right amount of laughter.

FAQ

What are your fees?

Individuals $160 (including GST) for a 50 minute session

Couples/Families $230 (including GST) for a 50 minute session

what happens in the first session?

The first session is spent getting to know you, learning what is working for you right now, and areas that you would like to cultivate change. It is important for me to get a sense of who you are today, and what led you here, so I will spend a little more time than usual in this session asking questions about various aspects of your life to give me a more holistic understanding of you.

Is this confidential?

All counselling is confidential. There are ethical limits to confidentiality that all counsellors must observe. These include: a) suspicion of intent to harm oneself or to harm another person; b) suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is experiencing neglect or abuse and c) a legal order to release records (ie. a subpoena). We will review this in the first session. If you currently have a related file open with ICBC or are involved in a legal dispute that may request information pertaining to counselling, please indicate this on your intake form

HOw do i book?

You can book directly through the online scheduling system. If you have questions, or would like to connect prior to booking please don’t hesitate to contact me!

how does payment work?

All payments for first sessions will be taken at the time of booking. If you choose to cancel your appointment (48 hours or more in advance), all monies will be refunded. When you attend a session an official receipt will be emailed to you that, if applicable, you can submit to insurance providers. Unfortunately, direct billing to insurance providers is not available at this time. Please check your benefits information to see if Registered Clinical Counsellors are part of your coverage.
